Caroline (Carol) M. Vermillion, 80, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was received into Glory on August 16, 2019. Carol was a long time resident of Bowie, Maryland. She moved to Greenfield, Indiana in August of 2018 to live with her daughter. Carol gave a valiant effort in fighting Alzheimer’s and Lung Cancer for more than a year.
Carol was born in Brattleboro, VT to Wendell and Sylvia Harwood, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her three brothers, Tom Harwood, Chis Harwood (Joan), and Brian Harwood (Diann). She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Bob Vermillion in 2013.
Carol loved people. Loved to watch people, to engage with people, to laugh with and love people. She never met a stranger. She enjoyed travelling this great country with her husband in their camper.
Carol was a long time member of The Church of the Redeemer in Bowie, Maryland and had attended Cumberland United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, IN the last year of her life.
Carol is survived by her four children: Denise Ewing (Craig), Robin Potter (Mike), Dawn Bladen (Tom), and Robert Vermillion, Jr. (Michelle). She loved her grandchildren: Katie (Noc), Michael (Myranda), Tyler (Katie), Chris (Ashley), Katie, Emily (Joey), Alex (Kelly), James, Angela (Harsh), Ryan, Alexis, and Joshua. She doted on her three great-grandchildren; Layla, Mick and Emma.
Family will receive friends on Friday, August 23, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rt 3 South), Bowie, MD. A funeral service will be held at Church of the Redeemer, 7300 Race Track Road, Bowie, MD on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 10:30am. Interment, Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Cumberland United Methodist Church, 219 N. Muessing Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229.
Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Carol.
