Chareth Gunn

After a courageous four-and-a-half-year battle with cancer, Chareth Deanne Gunn was swept away peacefully by the loving angels of the Lord on November 20, 2018, in the presence of her childhood sweetheart of 59 years. She was 71.

Chareth was born on August 10, 1947. She was a dancer her entire life. She performed first on roller skates as a child at the Bladensburg Roller Rink. She won many competitions and awards for her skating and was often in the newspaper. Her husband Jim met her there when they were just children. Later in life, she joined the DC Hand Dance Club and was out all over town dancing the night away with her beloved dance family.  Her love of dance brought her great joy in life and allowed her to touch the hearts of so many in the community.

Chareth was a hard and dedicated worker and had a long and successful career as an operations manager at the FDIC. She retired when her first grandchild was born and loved to spend her time shopping, decorating and hanging out with her grandkids. She enjoyed music and was always up on the latest fashions. 

She supported and encouraged everyone she met in life until her very last day. Her friends and family will miss her dearly. 

Chareth is survived by her loving husband James Gunn, son Jeff and his wife Kelly, son Chris and his wife Angela, and six grandchildren: Aidan, Avery, Austin, Annabelle, Campbell, and Isaiah.
