Charles Michael Doran V, “Big Guy Jr.”, “CB”, our beloved Charlie, joined his mother Kathy Lynn Doran and his Father Charles Michael Doran IV in the afterlife at the young age of 34. He is also preceded by his grandparents Harry and Agnus Doran & Juanita Poff, Uncle Martin F. Lynott, Aunts Judy Poff Rock, Sandra Craven Poff, Pattie Bradshaw, cousins Melinda Stout, Charles Wayne Mills and Danny “Wolfman” Craven. Charlie is survived by his younger and only brother, Sean Patrick Doran & partner Cheili, his Anne Marie Lynott, Carolyn Barnhart, Cindy Poff, Uncles Marty Bradshaw and Charles Poff & wife Pat along with numerous loving and rambunctious cousins.
Charlie was loved and touched the lives of so many. Despite the tragic loss of his parents, Charlie continued to live a life in which he acted on love and kindness. CB was one of those people you could rely on to call at any hour for anything and cared more about others than himself. His selflessness included keeping his pain quiet and he will be missed dearly every day. He had a deep bond with many friends including Juan Nogales, Billy Mills, Tim Owen, Hilary Tibbens, Amy Cushings, Jen, Ryan Waltrip, Howard Cayne, Claire and husband Rob, The Rowland family, including Janet, Michael, Joey and Fred, The Ferguson family of Michael, Michael Jr., and Elizabeth, & The Obregon family, including Byron, Brandon (his little seed), Sandra, Darwin and Byron Jr.
Charlie grew up in Falls Church, VA where he excelled in the hospitality industry at places such as Destination DC in addition to being an entrepreneur. He studied at Johnson & Wales where he obtained his Master’s degree. Sean was so proud of him and is grateful for every memory they shared growing up together, bonding over N64 in childhood, and nutrition and health after overcoming many obstacles in adulthood trying to navigate life & the loss of their parents. He will be remembered forever, missed daily and the loss is unbearable. We love you Charlie and every time we see a Cardinal, we will know it is you flying with mom and dad, finally at peace.
Just like our Mom and Dad, Charlie is beyond the grave an inspiration to live a life of love and respect, and to continue living in a way that honors them all.
