Cheryl Pamela Solomon, was born on November 15, 1951. She was the last born of ten to Eugenie Yong and Dudley Haynes. She entered into eternal life on Friday, May 29, 2020. She attended Trinity Methodist Church High School in Guyana. In the United States, she attended a vocational school where she earned her certificate as a nursing assistant.
On June 5, 1971, at the young age of 19, she married the late David Solomon. This union was blessed with three children, Aubrey, Guyane, and Tristan. She was a homemaker until she and David migrated to the United States in November of 1981. In the winter of 1982, she entered the workforce and worked in custodial services. She progressed and managed custodial services contractually in multiple government facilities for Federal Services, Inc.
Cheryl was known for having a heart of gold. She was vivacious, caring, humorous, and gave unselfishly. If you needed employment, she hired you. If you were hungry, without a doubt you would be fed. She was a phenomenal woman that loved to cook lots of traditional Guyanese cuisine to share with family and friends. Cheryl lit up whenever she talked about her children and grandchildren. Her life’s purpose was for her children to be successful and raise their children right. This was echoed frequently to family and friends. She was a generous giver who gave her last to see others happy. She was a Servant’s Heart. Cheryl was a committed mother to her children and grandchildren. She was a great aunt to her nieces and nephews. She was the sounding board for her siblings, friends, sisters, and brothers-in-law. They shared an unbreakable bond filled with memories from being in Guyana and the United States.
Cheryl is survived by her children Aubrey Solomon, Guyane Massiah, and Tristan Solomon. In addition to her children, she is survived by two daughter-in-law’s Alicia Solomon, Nora Solomon, and Son-in-law Robert Massiah, eight grandchildren Aniyha Solomon, Rashaad Solomon, Ayana Solomon, Quaniece Green, Morgan Massiah, Elijah Solomon, Payton Solomon, and Addison Solomon.
