Chrissy was born on September 13, 1977, on the beautiful island of Trinidad, to Ena Francois and the late John Duncan. She passed away, peacefully, the 22nd of January 2022, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore. She battled for a long time with illness, but was careful not to become a burden to her family.
Chrissy grew up in Gonzales Village, Guapo, Trinidad. Before migrating to the United States, she completed her high school education. In the USA, she continued her education with her focus in health care and went to work, in Elder Care and as a Direct Support Professional. She loved her work and went the extra mile to make others happy.
Chrissy was a superb cook and always had a delicious dish on hand when her family and friends gathered. She had a great sense of satisfaction when she was commended on her delicious meal. She was not only great in her cuisine, but also well-coordinated in the way she dressed. When she stepped into a room, people turned their eyes.
Chrissy’s life story is a testament of great strength, hope, love and miracles in face of many challenges. She loved and enjoyed her life, loved and valued her family and friends. She had an uplifting spirit and the biggest of heart. She made a lasting impression that will never be forgotten. She loved Community Services and even in her sickness she would travel to the Food Pantry at the Emmanuel Worship Center in Alexandria to serve. And whenever she went, she always brought food to share for Pot Luck.
She was an amazing mother who loved her son, dearly. All who watched the interaction between mother and son knew the depth of their connection.
Chrissy will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her son Malik; mother, Ena Francois; siblings: Ancilla, Emmanuel, Elvert, Ainsley, LyneAnn, Wendy, Kelvin, Karen, Marlon, Owen; numerous family members, friends and the Babah family.
She will be remembered forever and loved always. May she rest in peace.
