“Chele”

On Sunday, June 11, 2023 Christian “Chele” Segovia, an adored soul, passed away at the young age of 24.

Chele was born on July 17, 1998 in Silver Spring, MD to Christian Marlon Segovia & Marianella Yovanna Segovia.

Chele grew up in a loving and proudly Peruvian-Salvadoran household that was always surrounded by family and friends. His spirit was one of a kind and truly unmatched. He knew his worth and never had to prove to anyone what his value was.

Crossing paths with Chele was a blessing to whomever, rich or poor. No one was ever beneath him and he wasn’t a person to judge you for who you were. There were times where people would ask him for money outside the gas station; whenever he could, Chele would just offer to buy people food or water instead without a care of how much they ordered.

He was a protector and a defender of his loved ones. If Chele was around everything was always okay. No one ever messed with him or anyone he was with. Chele had a presence of authority and always stood on respect.

As a child, he was always looking for the next laugh. As a brother he was always one step ahead of a prank. As a son he always found a way to make his parents proud. He was undeniably the best father anyone could be.

Chele had a tough and rough exterior but the most beautiful heart on the inside. His life always had a purpose. As time went on, he matured into such a wonderful man and father. His son was his life. At a young age of 18, he went on raised his son with all the love in the world. He made sure his son knew how much he loved him, and he made sure everyone around him knew that no one came before his son.

Chele lived his life fully without a worry or care in the world. He knew that every moment, good or bad, was what you made of it. He always knew that all you had to do to be happy was to do it. Chele lived his life with no regrets. All his choices were his own and it didn’t matter who would agree. Chele was a man of his word and always showed up anytime anyone called him. Day or night, rain, snow, or sunshine he was there.

He knew in his heart that life was too short to be sad and gloomy, so each day must count. He did anything to be sure his loved one where good or taken care of. Trust, loyalty, passion, and love is what Chele put into this world.   

Christian is survived by his father Christian Segovia Sr., his mother Marianella Segovia, his sister Mariana Segovia, his brother Julian Segovia, his son Christian Segovia III, and his fiancé Stephanie Umaña who is expecting the birth of their child.
