Coeta Faye Withgott
August 5, 1933 — December 7, 2021
Coeta Faye (Beckwith) Withgott passed peacefully from this life into the arms of Jesus December 7, 2021, after a brief illness. She was 88 years old. Coeta was born August 5, 1933 in Laverne, Oklahoma, the third of five children to Ivan and Ella Beckwith. She was raised in Ft. Supply, Oklahoma. After graduating, she worked as a secretary for the Ft. Supply Psychiatric Hospital, after which she moved to Woodward, Oklahoma to work for an Optometrist. There she met a young man named Bill Withgott when he came to repair her television. They married less than a year later on June 10, 1961. Bill took a job that moved them to Arizona, Louisiana, California, and finally Maryland. They had two daughters and raised them in Bowie, Maryland. Coeta worked as a secretary for Earth Satellite Corporation for over 25 years. She took great delight in being a mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother, and was loving and generous. She was predeceased by her parents, Ivan R. and Ella F. (Byram) Beckwith; siblings, L. Nadine (Beckwith) Davis, Clois R. Beckwith, Lonnie L. Beckwith, and Annetta M. Beckwith; and her husband, William C. Withgott. She is survived by her daughters, Leslie (Scott) Owen of Bowie, MD and Amy (George) Chaffman of Woodbridge, VA; and her grandson Gabriel Owen. Family will receive friends at the wake, Tuesday, December 14, 2021, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Highway (Rt. 3 South), Bowie, MD 20715.
A funeral will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2021, 11 a.m. at Mid Atlantic Community Church, 2485 Davidsonville Rd., Gambrills, MD 21054 with lunch immediately following.
