On Tuesday, August 13, 2019, Daniel Lovell, age 34, passed as a result of his on going battle with PTSD. He was born in Manassas, VA December 4, 1984.
Daniel is survived by his wife Katherine Lovell, his mother, Elizabeth Pezely, his father Randall Lovell, and his brother, Dustin Lovell and wife Stephanie, and many, many (oh so many) half finished projects.
Daniel was a Master Sergeant in the U. S. Army. He served honorably for 16 years, to include multiple deployments supporting the War on Terrorism. He earned several awards and honors including the Meritorious Service Medal (1), the Joint Service Commendation Medal (2), the U.S. Army Commendation Medal (2), the Joint Meritorious Unit Award (1), the Meritorious Unit Commendation (2), the Army Good Conduct Medal (5), the National Defense Service Medal (1), the Iraq Campaign Medal (2), the Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal (1), the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals (1 each), the Korean Defense Service Medal (1), NCO Professional Development Ribbons (3) the U.S. Army Service and Overseas Service Ribbons (3), an Aviation Badge, and Marksmanship Qualification Badges- Expert Rifle and Expert Pistol.
While Daniel was an exceptional soldier, he was even more so, an exceptional man. His love for others knew no bounds. He instantly made long term friends wherever he went, and spared no effort to show his care for them (many times through elaborate, over-the-top pranks).
Daniel is proceeded in death by his dad, Bruce Pezely, grandmother, Sara Hensley, Uncle Kelly Duffield and wife Patti.
While we all miss Daniel, we truly mourn for those who never knew him.
