Dawn Michelle Chapdelaine went to heaven on April 20, 2022 from the Intensive Care Unit of Johns Hopkins Hospital. She had been in the ICU since February 5th 2022 suffering from the complications of an attempted kidney transplant on that date. She was the daughter of A. Michael Chapdelaine and A. Juanita Chapdelaine. She was born on July8,1966 in Washington D.C. Dawn had spina bifida and was a paraplegic from birth. She graduated from Bowie High School and Prince Georges Community College and had also earned numerous credits at Bowie State University. Her health issues prevented employment, although she did some volunteer work with Sacred Heart Church and the PGSPCA.
Her life was filled with numerous physical hardships including over forty surgeries. She met all such challenges with courage and an indomitable spirit. Never bitter or a complainer, she was always cheerful and more concerned about the welfare of other people and animals than herself. She was a uniquely selfless person. She loved her Church, her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
