Deborah J. McNulty passed away on March 8, 2024. She is survived by her husband Richard McNulty, her son Michael McNulty and her granddaughter Abigail Marie McNulty. She graduated from Bowie Senior High in 1979. She then attended the University of MD where she studied journalism. Her goal at that time was to work for the BBC in London but life had other plans. She and Richard met at the Giant Food Store in Marlowe Heights where they were both working at the time. They began dating later that year and were married on Jan. 12,1985. Their son Michael was born in 1987. Three of Deb's greatest loves in life, after family and friends, were cats, Christmas and England. When they began dating, Deb shared an apartment with a friend and her cat Frisky. Frisky had been her cat since she was a girl. Richard met Frisky the night of their first date, if Frisky had not approved of him that would have been the end of their relationship. As for Christmas, Richard and Deb held annual family Christmas parties for several years. Deb would have continued that till the end if she had been able. And although she never worked for the BBC she did get to visit England several times.
Shortly after they were married, Deb left Giant and began working in the rental office at the apartment complex where they were living. Over the course of several years she worked her way up to become a property manager for Southern Management. This was a job that she loved and of which she was very proud. Unfortunately, due to progressing health problems she was unable to work beyond 1997. This was quite hard on Deb because she was always very social, outgoing and always had many friends. As her health problems increasingly restricted her mobility she found new ways to connect with people. She became part of a large community of online friends through playing games, especially Family Feud, and chatting with fellow gamers. In 2014 she and Richard went on a trip to Las Vegas with a group of these online friends. Unfortunately, in her last few years her health problems got increasingly worse until her eventual passing on March 8th. Deb will be greatly missed by all who knew her - in person or online.
