Dennis Christopher Moore, 73, of Bowie, MD passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022, in his home with his
loving family members.
Dennis Christopher Moore was born on September 10, 1949 in Washington D.C. He was the only son of the
late James and Beatrice (Foster) Moore.
He was the loving husband of 14 years to the late Simone Grady Moore; proud father of Dennis Christopher
Moore JR., and Ashley (Jamaal) Thomas. Loving Pap of Christopher, Ky’leeah, Ava, Xomere, and Joshua, and
son in law of the late Richard Grady and Annette Grady.
After he and his family moved to Pittsburgh in his early teens, Dennis graduated from Wilkinsburg High
School in 1967, where he was a member of the orchestra and marching band. He attended Duff's Business
Institute. He went on to be both a manager and buyer at Turtles Shoes at Century III Mall. He transitioned to
working for US Airways first as a Senior Gate Agent and then a Loss Claims Representative during his 15+
years with the company. He retired from US Airways in 2005. He went on to work at PRC and Alorica for the
next 10+ years as a Customer Service Representative for a variety of companies. He loved all the friendships
and relationships he made over the years through work, music, and sports. Dennis was an avid sports
enthusiast and loved watching his son and daughter play sports. He spent many enjoyable years coaching
Clairton little league baseball, basketball, and coaching Ashley in track and field. Dennis loved music and
played a variety of instruments, professionally as tenor saxophonist; and in music groups and his church band,
he especially liked to play drums. He was generous, good natured and full of life with a genuine heart of gold
and a story for every occasion. He dearly treasured annual beach vacations with family and a good seafood
feast.
Preceding Dennis in death were his wife Simone Grady Moore (1998), his parents, James (1982) and Beatrice
(2011). He is survived and will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws,
and friends.
