Dimitri John Valmas

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son and brother, Dimitri John Valmas of Woodbine, MD, along with his beautiful puppy Lola who were both taken from us too soon on June 13th, 2024.

Dimitri brought immeasurable joy and light into our lives with his kind heart, beautiful voice, and boundless humor, but Dimitri was at his happiest performing for friends and family and sharing his love and passion for music. 

Dimitri also loved taking his sweet puppy Lola on evening walks, watching the Baltimore Orioles, playing golf and cooking.

Dimitri is survived by his mother Mary, father John and brother Greg.

Dimitri began his Greek Orthodox Christian journey on June 17,1984 when he was baptized at the Annunciation Cathedral by his Godparents Chris and Chrisoula Kotzias. Dimitri continued his closeness with the church through countless years of Sunday School, Greek School and service as an altar boy under Rev. Fr. Constantine Monios and then Metropolitan Constantine of Denver. He was also active with the JOY and GOYA organizations, Evangelakia Dance Troupe and volunteering his time during the annual Greek Festival to perform and share his love of music.

A service celebrating Dimitri’s precious life will be held on Friday, June 21st at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation in Baltimore, MD beginning at 11am and will be laid to rest following the service at the Greek Orthodox Cemetery in Woodlawn, MD. Friends and family are invited after the burial service, to join the family at Martin’s West to remember a life that, albeit short, was truly one that touched us all.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Dimitri John Valmas Music Scholarship Fund. Checks should be made out to the Annunciation Choir (24 W. Preston St, Baltimore, MD 21201).
