Donna Maria King, beloved mother of Michelle M. King lived a full life, always willing to open her home to others which was a legacy she received from her beloved and now-deceased parents, William (Billy) and Gertrude (Mimi) Turner. Through the years, Donna and her parents welcomed many relatives into their home and treated each as members of their own family.
As the only child of her parents, Donna was always a loving, caring daughter upon whom her parents could depend. She exhibited true servant-hood when caring for her parents and her only child, Michelle. Donna will be missed by many who were blessed to call her cousin, friend, and co-worker.
Donna spent her professional life working in various positions within the federal government. She was a dedicated employee and retired after serving 35 years with distinction. During various assignments, Donna proved to be a loyal, tenacious employee who went to work every day exhibiting her God-given skills. Until the day she died, Donna had loyal coworkers with whom she kept in touch.
Donna was born November 5, 1940, baptized Catholic, and was a woman of faith all of her life. She loved her family and her pets. She loved her dogs and took care of them diligently. She rescued dogs and at one time had as many as five; all were given a loving home and were kept clean and well-nourished.
Those who loved and knew Donna were blessed to be able to call her friend, cousin, neighbor, co-worker, and most of all, mother. We will miss her because we loved her. We celebrate her life and thank God for loaning her to us. Donna left us with many memories which we will cherish in our hearts as we learn to live this life without her.
