Edward Lee Rascoe, 77, of Largo, MD, passed away peaceably on January 22, 2025, at University of Maryland Medical Center. Affectionately known as “Lil Bro, Roscoe, PaPa”, by family and friends, was born on November 26, 1947, to Joshua Taylor and Janie Outlaw Rascoe in Windsor, NC. He attended the Bertie County public school system and graduated from Southwestern High School Class of 1966. He began his employment alongside his father on the farm and later pursued employment in Washington, DC as a mechanic with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro). This employment began in 1973 and lasted until his retirement in 2010, with over 37 years of service. He was baptized as one of Jehovah Witnesses in 1990 and remained a faithful member until his death.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Joshua Taylor and Janie Rascoe, and brother, Joshua Taylor Rascoe Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Rascoe and two children, Lakeisha Rascoe and Terrence Rascoe (Maxine). Left to cherish his memories are four sisters: Nellie Mitchell (William) of Lewisville, NC; Dianne Carter of Robersonville, NC; Gloria Hyman (Michael) of Rolesville, NC; Barbara Smallwood of Philadelphia, PA; one sister-in-law Deloris Cooper (Lindwood) of Windsor, NC, one brother-in-law Spurgeon Carter of Windsor, NC; three grandchildren Syrrail Rascoe of the home, Isaiah and Danielle Rascoe of Ruther Glen, VA; special nieces, nephews and cousins, host of relatives and friends, co-workers, classmates, and especially his spiritual brothers and sisters.
