Eileen M. Purcell

Eileen Purcell, 73, of Crofton, MD, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.

Eileen was born in Shamokin, PA to Miriam and Nicholas Yarema on April 9, 1945.  She moved to the Washington area in 1964 and settled in Maryland in 1969 where she started her career working as a Secretary for the Pentagon and then moving over to the Comptroller of the Currency.  After 12 years, Eileen stayed home to raise her children. Once they were grown, she re-entered the workforce supporting the educational efforts at Bowie State University and then the Federal Aviation Administration as a Government Contractor for fifteen years.  Eileen retired in 2016 due to health issues; however, that did not stop her from living life to the fullest.    

Her compassion, strong will and love for life, especially to family, was witnessed by everyone that knew her.  She loved playing bridge with her friends, ice cream, going to the casinos and lobster night at the Blue Dolphin.  She will truly be missed.

Eileen is survived by her daughter Lorie Holt from Crofton, MD, her son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Michelle Purcell of Owings, MD, her daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Zach Biller of Westminster, MD; and seven grandchildren: Christian Holt, Brandon Holt, Ryan Purcell, Jacob Purcell, Scott Purcell, Kendall Purcell and Addison Biller.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 2pm to 5pm at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy (Rt 3 South), Bowie, MD. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday, November 12, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church,  1800 Seton Dr., Crofton, MD.  A celebration of life will take place following the service at Blue Dolphin.
