On Tuesday, June 8, 2021, Elaine Marie Carden (Logan), lovingly known as Mimi was called home and entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born on August 25, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA to Roy C. & Gertrude Logan. Elaine was married for almost 43 years to her husband Ryall Carden. Elaine and Ryall have 2 sons, Timothy Ryall and Christopher Roy who were her pride and joy. She was very involved in church ministry, AWANA and loving her family.
Elaine had several hobbies such as Precept Bible studies, gardening, sudoku puzzles, and sign language. Then her grandkids came along, at which point her life motto became “it’s all for the children.” Her time was then filled with reading books to Cameron’s school classes, board games, and reading “Big Dog, Little Dog” to Cameron, Ryder and Taylor. Her family brought her so much joy.
Everyone who knew Elaine called her a prayer warrior and a forever friend. She was just one of those people who loved her Lord, and loved people. There was no such thing as a stranger to Elaine. It was just people that she hadn’t met yet. Her laugh and smile were contagious. She’s encouraged and led many people in their walks with the Lord. The legacy she leaves behind is one of love and faithfulness to the Lord.
She was an amazing wife, sister, aunt, mom, mother-in-law, Mimi and friend. Her absence has left an incredible hole in many hearts today; however, we rejoice knowing that she is in the presence of her Lord and Savior. She is singing “Victory in Jesus” in the Heavenly choir and basking in the glory of her Savior.
Elaine was predeceased in death by her parents, Roy and Gertrude Logan, step mother Margaret Logan, and sister Lenora Jones. Missing her are her husband Ryall, son Tim and his wife Grace, son Chris and his wife Sarah and 3 adorable grandchildren (Cameron Logan, Ryder and Taylor), sister Doris Sims, her aunt Alberta Logan, many nieces and nephews including her beloved niece Annette Holloway, her lifelong friend Irene Williams, and too many forever friends to name.
The Carden family would like to thank the many family friends who have loved us as we walk this difficult road. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Elaine’s name to Annapolis Area Christian School. Checks can be made out with the memo line “In Memory of Elaine Carden”
