Elmer F. Call, 93, of Bowie, MD, passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2022. Born August 7, 1929, in Evans Mills, NY, he was the son of Ida (Keller) Call and Leon Call.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Corinne (Twomey) Call, his sister, Hallie Davison of Franklin, NC, brother, Michael L. Call and his wife, Margi of Schenectady, NY, a brother-in-law, Michael R. Twomey of Alexandria, VA and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased in death by his brother, Robert F. Call in 1996.
Mr. Call served in the US Navy from 1946 - 1966, the US Federal Government from 1966 - 1984 and Prince George's County Public Schools from 1986 -1992. After living in Hawaii for 28 years he returned to the mainland, RVing throughout the other 49 states. Elmer enjoyed traveling through Europe, Australia and New Zealand. He enjoyed bingo, playing golf and was an avid fisherman and bowler, earning a 300 score at age 74. He also enjoyed watching the Washington Nationals, Capitals and Commanders.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at 2:00 p.m., before a 3:00 p.m. funeral service followed by light refreshments on Friday, September 23, 2022, at the Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Highway (Route 3 South), Bowie, MD 20715. His ashes will be interred at a later date in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco, ME 04006. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the charily of your choice.
