Florence Antoinette Lashick, 94, of Bowie, MD gained her angel wings on Thursday, March 11, 2021. She passed away at Anne Arundel Medical Center succumbing to sepsis following a seven-year struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Born in Fell Township, PA, Florence was the daughter of Mary and John Lesak. She was a homemaker for much of her adult life raising her three children in New Carrollton, MD.
The word most commonly used to describe Florence was “sweet.” She was kind and loving.
There was nothing Florence enjoyed more than family gatherings. She lived simply. She enjoyed watching her big screen console and LCD televisions. She loved to watch the Washington Redskins football team, golf tournaments (always rooting for Tiger Woods), tennis tournaments, college and pro basketball, and afternoon soap operas. She always stayed abreast of current events and got immersed in various crime stories over the years such as the O.J. Simpson trial (he’s guilty she said) and the Casey Anthony trial. She loved perogies and other Polish foods. She never passed on desert.
Florence acquired a taste for pop and rock music from her son Dennis. She became a big fan of Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen.
Florence was predeceased by her son Dennis Lashick, sister Margaret (Harold) Rogers, and brother Richard (Regina) Lesak. She leaves to cherish her memory her son Stephen (Donna) Lashick; daughter Marie (David) Evans; granddaughters Lauren (Justin) Richeson, Amber Evans, and Kimberly Lashick; and many nieces and nephews. She loved them all dearly.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
