Francis F. Fladung

On Saturday, June 25,2022 at the age of 91, Frances Fabian Fladung passed away peacefully at The Rebecca Fortney Inpatient Care Center under the care of Chesapeake at the Hospice.  His medical team was gentle and loving in his final days.  His family is forever grateful.  Prior to his admission to hospice, Frank resided at the Regency Park Senior Living Community.  Both the staff and residents loved him dearly.

 

Frank is survived by his two daughters, Deborah and Jean, grandchildren, Stacey, Lyndsay, Brett and Brody, great grandchildren, Farrah, Brayden and Adrian, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

He was preceded in a death by his devoted wife of 70 years, Edie, his parents, Charles and Anna, six sisters and one brother.

 

In his early years, being in a large family and living during the depression, Frank learned the art of frugality. He mastered recycling and reusing things.  The town folks knew  where to go when they needed something and Frank was happy to abide. As a young boy, he had a soft spot for animals and he told the story of rescuing a cow because it needed a home much to his parent's surprise.

 

A self-employed builder, devoted husband, proud father and friend to everyone, he lived well, laughed often and enjoyed the simpler life. His favorite place to visit was his farm on the Eastern Shore where he fished and hunted and entertained family and friends. Frank also loved all sports, especially baseball and was scouted by the Washington Senators. All around athlete in anything he tried.

 

At home you could find him tinkering in the garden, whistling a sweet melody or helping his daughter, Jean with her shop, The Fabian House.  He enjoyed a good conversation with anyone and prided himself in telling a good story.  Thanks to all who listened because he enjoyed an audience.

 

Always did his best but now his hands are at rest.  To honor his wishes, there will be no funeral service or viewing. Instead there will be a Celebration of Life for him and his wife Edith held at a later date.  Family and friends will be notified of a time and place.
