Frank Anthony Bennis, age 89, died on May 20, 2024, in Annapolis, Maryland.

Frank was born on September 11, 1934, in Bonhamtown, New Jersey.  He was the son of the late Frank and Ida Bennis.  Upon his high school graduation in 1952, Frank enlisted in the Air Force where he was a Staff Sergeant until his honorable discharge in 1960.   While working at a family-owned telephone answer service company, he became employed as a water meter reader with the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) in 1964.  He worked his way up through the ranks and retired as a supervisor of the water meter readers in 1992.

Upon retirement, Frank moved to Florida with his second wife, Penny, where he enjoyed his favorite activity, golf, and visiting the amusement parks.

Frank was a very loving and caring man.  He enjoyed traveling with Penny, going to the horse races and casinos.  But his favorite place to visit was Las Vegas.  

Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Penny, daughters Kathy Thorne (Jimmy) and Susie Fitch (Greg), stepson Kenny Tayman (Jackie), stepdaughter Melissa Vaness (Scott), 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  He leaves behind his younger sister Joanie Chaballa (Paul) and younger brother Ricky Bennis (Diane).  Frank was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Ida Bennis, his first wife Pat Bennis, his brother Tommy Bennis, his son John Bennis, and his granddaughter Jennifer Thorne.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 1 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy, (Rt. 3 South), Bowie, MD 20715.
