FRED M. PICK, 79, a retired Sales Executive with the Washington Post, passed away peacefully, Friday, September 17, 2021 at his home in Gambrills, MD, surrounded by much love and many prayers. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and grew up in Hollidaysburg, where he shared many stories of his memorable childhood, even reaching out in 2015 to the latest owners to the house he grew up in, to wish them “good memories” in that home as well. He made his way to Washington, DC where a simple photograph sent to the Washington Post launched his career for the next 32 years. It was in DC that he met his wife Roxy S. Pick, preceded in death in 2002. His love of humor, family and entertaining is what those closest to him will remember the most. He wanted all to know the joy of his life was his family. He treasured his friends and made sure to bring much laughter into his every day. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Sheri Pick and Tami Simpson, son in law James Simpson, grandchildren James Lephew, Jr. and Jennifer Simpson, great grandson Jackson Lephew, brothers Phil Pick and Steve Pick, and many more family and friends.
