On Thursday, December 3, 2020, George Paul Stratos, left all pain and suffering behind and was called home. George was born in Jamaica, New York, on March 10, 1963 to Paul and Stavroula Stratos (nee Xanthakos). The family moved to Baltimore in 1974. George graduated from high school in 1982 and held various jobs on and off throughout the years. George participated in a food preparation course through a work program, graduated with his certificate and received great reviews from the teachers. For the past year and a half, George worked part time for Giant, responsible for different tasks.
George had a kind heart, big smile, and was always ready to lend a hand if he could help in any way. He was a loyal friend to many. He loved his cousins and looked forward to being with them every holiday. He especially liked catching up with the younger generation cousins who fondly called him “cousin George”.
George will be greatly missed by his family and friends. George did not have any siblings, but is survived by his family who loved him; cousins Ollga Zavakos, James Zavakos, Dimi & George Mexis, Steven & Luke Zavakos and Leah, Emily and James Mexis. He is also survived by other cousins and maternal cousins in Athens, Greece. May his memory be eternal!
Contributions may be made in George’s memory to the Annunciation Cathedral, 24 W. Preston Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21234, or you can light a candle in George’s memory through the Cathedral website.
