Georgia Tragas, age 93, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, December 24, 2023, at home, surrounded by family.
She was born March 3, 1930, in Greece, a daughter of the late Father Kuriakos and Kostoula Mavroukas. With her family, she immigrated to Canada, and eventually to Brooklyn Park, Maryland. Georgia would return to the village of Magoula, Greece for several summers with her children and grandchildren.
Georgia was preceded in death by her husband Theodore Tragas; son, George Tragas; and siblings, Voula Gavaris, Kostandinos Mavroukas, George Mavroukas, Nicholas Mavroukas, and Kiki Lagoudi.
She was a homemaker, who enjoying cooking, gardening, sewing, and spending time with her family. Her flower garden was an admiration for anyone who passed by. She devoted her life to her family, helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always making sure their bellies were full.
Georgia is survived by her daughter, Lele; son-in law, Stan; granddaughter, Diana, her husband, Rich; greatgrandchildren, Ava, Luke, Ryan; granddaughter, Georgia; her husband, Robert; great-grandson, Niko; grandson, Terry; his fiancé, Kameron; great-grandson, George; granddaughter, Georgia; and sister, Panagiota. She leaves many nieces, nephews, and loved ones who will sadly miss her.
Visitation at the Greek Orthodox Cemetary in Baltimore will be held on Thursday, December 28, from 10:30-11:00, after which a service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the Greek Orthodox Cemetary.
