Gilbert Joseph Dionne

Gilbert Joseph Dionne, age 92, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2021 at home surrounded by family in Bowie, Maryland. He was born in Saint-Romuald, Quebec and was one of eleven siblings. On July 23, 1955 he married the love of his love Yvette Marie Mathieu who he shared an extraordinary, loving marriage of sixty four years with. Throughout their marriage they birthed five children, Pierre, Michael, Francine, Denis, and Simon. Gilbert was a loving and affectionate husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His positive energy spread to everyone around him. He enjoyed playing and watching sports, particularly hockey which he was a natural at. Regarded by many as 'the man who was good at everything' he was extremely athletic and even won Mr. Beauce a fitness competition in his hometown. He loved the beach, and shared a wonderful home with his wife Yvette in Ocean City, Maryland, where his family loved to visit him. He enjoyed riding his bike, gardening, and anything that got him outside and active. He would often return from his morning bike ride and watch The Price is Right, Judge Judy, The Young and the Restless, and in his later days Ellen! One of the the kindest, and most genuine men you'll ever meet, Gilbert was loved by everyone he came in contact with. He now joins his wife Yvette in heaven where I'm sure their love is as strong as ever. Gilbert is survived by his son Pierre (Sherry), son Michael (Amy deceased), daughter Francine (Andre), son Denis (Meg), son Simon (Cathy), sister Denise (Pierre Lambert), sister Irene (Conrad Bernier deceased), brother Gerard, as well as many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Family will receive friends on December 18, 2021 from 2pm to 3pm, followed by a funeral service at 3pm, at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 Crain Highway Bowie, MD. 20715.
