Gilbert J. Halso

On Thursday, October 18, 2018, Gilbert J. Halso of Bowie, MD, unexpectedly passed from this life.  He was the beloved husband for 31 years of Carol Ann Halso and the proud father of Jeanne Marie and Shane.

Gilbert was born on June 3, 1960 in Washington, D.C., the son of the late Gerry and Jeanne Marie (Hudson) Halso.  Over the years Gilbert enjoyed a multitude of activities to include fishing, hunting, golf, wood crafting and drawing.  He especially enjoyed playing Xbox with his son, Shane, even though he frequently lost.  One of the things he was most proud of was his grilling.  Often he could be found at family and friend's gatherings with his smoker, preparing wings.  One of his secrets was "accidentally" dropping the first wing so he would have to be the first one to sample his creation.

Gilbert was excitedly awaiting the birth of his first grandchild due in April, 2019.

Gilbert will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  Looking through family pictures it was amazing to see his different comical expressions, not to mention his frequent hand gesture, a Halso family trait.

In addition to his wife and two children, Gilbert is survived by four brothers, Kenny, Gerry, Stevie (Allison) and Andy and two sisters, Kristy Hickey (Paul) and Carolyn Halso-Baldwin (Ken) as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Jack Carruthers.
