Born in Washington DC to Italian immigrant parents, Angelo & Guiseppina (Josephine) Ceccarelli. Grace, known to her family as Mary was the 8th of 8 children. She is predeceased by her parents and all of her siblings - brothers, Americo, Vincent, and Gino Ceccarelli, her sisters - Rose Guiliani, Amelia (Mimi) Marsh, Clara DeGraffenreid, and Gina (Jean) Massino. Grace Mary grew up in Washington, D.C., first on Arthur Place, and then on V Street NW. She was raised in the Catholic faith and went to Holy Rosary Church in Washington, D.C. She attended Langley Jr. High and McKinley Tech High School.
She is survived by her three children, Robert G. Brooks, Jr. (Susan), Timothy Brooks (Tammy), and Lynn Parks-Cooper (Ken). She is survived by 7 grandchildren, Christopher and David Parks, Kimberly, Kevin, and Kelly Brooks-Cheriyala, and Brian and Daniel Brooks. Great Grandmother to Marycatherine, Charlotte, Chip and Jackson Parks. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren called her “Noni and Great Noni.” She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Grace worked as a Secretary for over 45 years, her employers included, The Civil Aeronautics Board (now FAA), Wilkens Coffee Co., Rudolph and West Hardware Co., Catholic University and then for 2 Patent Law firms, the last being Keil and Weinkauf in Washington, DC. Grace lived in Crofton for over 30 years and attended church at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
She gave her children the strong sense of family, the gift of love, strength and courage throughout her life. She will remain in our hearts and be remembered and missed always.
