Bowie

A time to be born Youngest of three brothers (David Maison and Shaun Maison), Gregory Paul Maison, better known as ‘Curly’, was born in Peterborough, England on October 26, 1968. He was nicknamed Curly because of his long curly hair. Gregory was a man of many names. He was also affectionately called Greg, Paul, ‘Mase’, and G-Money, better known as G-Money Maiso. A time to love Greg met the love of his life on April 26, 2003 at 6:45am at Gold’s Gym (on the treadmill) in Alexandria, VA. Tina and Greg had their first date on April 27, 2003 which has lasted 19 + years. Tina and Greg married in Jamaica on November 6, 2006 surrounded by family and friends. It was the most amazing 4-day wedding! Armed with unconditional love and passion, they built an enormous life that centered around Daniel, Paul, Winston, Najah…and lastly Kingston. Greg had an agape love for his wife, children, parents, extended family and friends. He especially enjoyed family and friend gatherings in the backyard. He had an enormous love for Guyana, Jamaica, and all things Caribbean. A time to live Gregory spent most of his early years in Buxton (East Coast Demerara, Backdam) Guyana. As a youth, Gregory attended Buxton Roman Catholic School. In September of 1980 at the age of 12 years old, the Maison family migrated to Brooklyn, New York from Guyana. When Greg was a teenager, he took his first job as a newspaper delivery boy on his bike. He used the money he earned to buy peanut M&Ms and Coca-Colas. Soon after at the age of 13, he promoted himself to CEO of his bike repair shop. After several entrepreneurial endeavors were pursued, he found his true passion in real estate development. Greg was known for being dexterous and hardworking. In his later teenage years, he spent a short period of time rendering automotive services as a mechanic. He also briefly attended college in Long Island studying Mechanical Engineering before deciding to diversify his portfolio, by acquiring his first property and cultivating his love for real estate acquisition, maintenance, and management. Through an enormous amount of hard work, Greg built a thriving real estate business, Maison Management, LLC. The success of his business has been captured and reflected in many local newspapers and bank publications. A time to laugh Curly had a love for GOOD food, laughter, culture, travel, luxury, and people. He was a prankster with an infectious personality. He had the ability to insert humor to diffuse and delight situations. He inspired others to pursue success within their own means. He sought to impart economic discipline and knowledge to his children and anyone he knew that could benefit from the wisdom he gathered during his lifetime. Two of his favorite books Rich Dad Poor Dad and the Richest Man in Babylon which he felt personally played a pivotal role in advancing his mindset regarding economics and capital asset investments. Greg was a serious adrenaline junkie, who loved boating, jet skis, parasailing, atvs/go karts, etc. A time to mourn Gregory Paul Maison (age 54) transitioned to heaven on November 18, 2022. He is survived by his soulmate, Tina Maison, his parents (Winston and Enid Maison), brothers (Shaun Maison, David Maison), sons (Kingston Gregory Maison, Daniel Paul Maison, Paul Gregory Maison, Winston Maison), his only daughter (Na’Jah Westbrook), several grandchildren (Selia, Kayden, Zuri, Elijah, Joeseph, Brooklyn, Gabrielle, Sienna, Adrianna, Ariel, Jayden, ) and his loving dog (Homie Da Dog Maison).
