Harold Rocky Atkins was born on March 14, 1969, in Pittsburgh, to Joanne Atkins and Harold Sylvester “Rocky” Ford. Ten years later, he became a big brother to Eugene “Geno” Hopkins.
As a young child, he lived with his mother, brother, grandmother, aunt, uncle, and cousin. Harold and his cousin, Linda, were inseparable, often confused as brother and sister rather than cousins.
Growing up, Harold was a perfectionist and incredibly meticulous. He was talented and excelled at everything. He was a child model, a basketball player, and a breakdancer. He would practice relentlessly for hours perfecting his craft, and later became a member of one of the most respected and iconic breakdancing groups to ever grace Pittsburgh—The Robotic Tic Toccers.
In 1990, Harold moved to Maryland, where he worked and studied hard to ensure he cultivated the knowledge and skill set to be successful. He owned his information technology business and worked in the cybersecurity field, where his expertise was highly regarded. His dedication and thoughtfulness were synonymous with his name.
In 2005, Harold married his soulmate, Anitha. He would proudly tell the story of when they first met and how he immediately knew she was the one. They built a beautiful life together in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, filled with countless memories.
To this marriage was born their son, Kaysen. Kaysen was Harold’s life, his world, his everything. He loved being a dad and was ever present in Kaysen’s life. Harold was so proud of Kaysen and his many accomplishments. They had a bond that was unbreakable.
To know Harold was to know his love for cars, a passion that was cultivated at an early age by watching his dad and uncles with their cars. He was heavily involved within the car community and traveled locally and nationally to attend car shows and other related events.
Harold will forever be remembered as a devoted father, adoring husband, loving son, supportive brother, and true friend.
Harold leaves behind his wife and son, and an abundance of family and friends, who loved and cherished him deeply.
