Herminia Padre Maqui

HERMINIA PADRE MAQUI

        (1930 – 2020)

Herminia Padre Maqui, age 89 and a resident of Bowie, MD, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, October 20^th, 2020 at Ann Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis, MD.  Her much deserved rest comes after battling Parkinson’s Disease for quite some time. 

Herminia was born on December 24^th, 1930 in Naguilian, La Union, Philippines to the late Caridad Rillera and Teodorico Padre.  She graduated from Baguio Colleges Foundation with a BS degree in Education and subsequently worked and retired as a teacher, before migrating to the United States in 1991. She enjoyed listening to Ilocano songs, reading books, gardening, cooking, and playing boardgames and tutoring her grandchildren in Math.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Teofilo Macabitas Maqui in 1996, her brother, Jaime Rillera Padre in 2018, who was married to Corinne, and great granddaughter in 2017, Kylie Elisse.  She was survived by her children, Nenita Ann Recio and her husband Fred of Bowie, MD, Aurora Reyes and her husband Joselito of Mechanicsville, MD, Teofilo Maqui, Jr. and his wife Lilibeth of Bowie, MD, Joseph Godfrey Maqui and his wife Lerma of Allen, TX, Jocelyn Mackintosh and her husband Don of Oak Hill, VA, John Theodore Maqui and his wife Geraldine of Anchorage, AK, Jesus Herminio Maqui and his wife Rovelyn of Oak Hill, VA, sister Gemma Cabacungan and her husband Romulo of Clinton, MD and 9 grandchildren, Jan Alvin, Dawn Kathryn Joy, Phil Steven, Hazelle Ruth, Kristoffer Paul, Jeff Godfrey, Aron Joshua, Josh Patrick, and John Gerald.  

Relatives and friends are invited to Herminia’s Life Celebration on Friday, October 30^th,2020 from 6-8PM, at the Beall Funeral Home & Crematory, 6512 Crain Hwy, Bowie, MD and a mass on Saturday, October 31^st, 2020 at 12:30 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 16501 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD.
