Hosheyah Jacob Smith, 20 of Glendale, Maryland, departed this life on July 10, 2019 He was born August 17, 1998 at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD; son of Hoshea (Kenneth) and Victoria (Yaharah) Smith. He graduated from Bowie High School in 2016 and attended Prince George’s Community College with plans to attend Bowie State University in the fall.

Hosheyah grew up in the African Hebrew Israelite Community and Culture, it was integral part of his life. In his youth, he attended “Little Genuises, Math and Technology Program”, and was a drummer with the Koyoba Academy. Hosheyah played a number of instruments, which influenced his exquisite taste in different genres and love of music and rapping. Hosheyah enjoyed the art of Kung Fu. He also participated in the AAU Basketball league, which lead to his love for playing basketball.

Hosheyah was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jessie and Vernell Smith survived by his parents Kenneth (Hosheah) and Victoria (Yaharah) Smith; his siblings Leyah Smith, Ahoodah Smith, Yah’eez Smith, and A’sheyr Smith. Hosheyah leaves his maternal grandparents, Avon and Eloise Dantley, and Matthew (Wanda) Smith. He is also survived by several aunties and uncles including: Velvet (Treona) Kelty-Jacobs, Emah Sheliyah Wilson, Rayshawn Smith, Shameka Smith, Jackie (Richard) Bell, Rachel Smith, Robert Smith, and Natan Smith. We want to acknowledge his bestfriends and brothers: Hamzah, Babacar, Cameron, Winston and Vance

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Beall Funeral Home in Bowie MD on July 20, 2019, viewing will be held from 2pm - 4pm, with the funeral being held at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider monetary gifts.
