Ingeborg F. Salinger, a longtime resident of Laurel, Maryland, died November 23, 2019 at Morningside House of Laurel. She was born in Berlin, Germany, on October 24, 1927. After working for the U.S. Office of Military Government in post-world war II occupied Germany, she moved to the United States as an Army wife and was a dressmaker and custom tailor. Her clients included several Washington, DC area media personalities.
She was a longtime subscriber to the Olney Theater and a member of the Fort Meade German Wives’ Club.
Inge is preceded in death by her husband Karl Salinger. She is survived by her son Frank (Susan) of Miami Beach, FL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association National Capital Area Chapter, 8180 Greensboro Drive, Suite 400, McLean, VA 22102. She will be interred with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery's Columbarium. A memorial service will be held at Arlington at a future date.
