Irene F. Lloyd

On Saturday, August 28, 2021, Irene Florence Lloyd died after a brief battle with cancer. Irene was born in New York City and was raised in the Bronx. She was the eldest of three children, James and then Florence. In 1961 she married Charles Edward Lloyd and a few years later moved to Bowie, Maryland as one of the original residents. They raised their three children, Laura, Jacqueline and John in Bowie and was overjoyed to have her children and then grandchildren and great grandchildren remain in the area. Ed passed away in 1988.
Irene was an enthusiastic volunteer at her grandchildrens' school. Band concerts, field trips, baseball practice, she was happiest when she was busy being an important part of her children and grandchildrens' lives. She enjoyed traveling - especially cruising and having lunch with friends and family.
She is survived by her three children, Laura Seda, Jacqueline Bottega and John Lloyd, five grandchildren, Caroline Gallagher, Steven Seda, Charlie Seda, Sophia Bottega, Michael Bottega, and two great grandchildren, Charlotte Gallagher and Teddie Gallagher.
Her funeral Mass will be held at Ascension Catholic Church on September 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
