Isabel DeGrouchy

Isabel Catherine DeGrouchy, 82, of Edgewater, Maryland, passed away and went to be with the Lord on July 5, 2019. Isabel was born in Springdale, PA. She was the youngest of 10 children. Her parents were Harry and Katherine Dean. Isabel moved to Maryland in the 1950’s to attend school.

Isabel was an amazing woman who raised five children. After raising her children, Isabel went on to work for the United States Post Office and retired in 2003 after 21 years of dedicated service. Isabel enjoyed spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren play sports, playing bingo and building puzzles. Isabel was a dedicated Christian and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Isabel always put her children first and herself second. She always took the short straw and made her children feel like Kings and Queens. Mom you will be missed so much by so many. We love you.

She is survived by her five children, David W. DeGrouchy (Laura) of Bowie, MD; Ronald L. DeGrouchy (Sharon) of Fenwick Island, DE; Theresa L. Gatewood (Danny) of Edgewater, MD; Kenny DeGrouchy (Carla) of Temecula, CA; William J. DeGrouchy (Susan) of Monrovia, MD and former husband Jerry DeGrouchy of Edgewater. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kimberly Lewis, Kyle Gatewood, Eric Gatewood, Allie DeGrouchy, Evan DeGrouchy, Megan DeGrouchy, Jillian DeGrouchy, John Michael DeGrouchy, Victoria DeGrouchy.  She is survived by three Great Grandchildren as well. Hailey Lewis, Steven Lewis and Kaiden Gatewood.
