James Vermont Cunningham, Jr.

James “Jimmy” Vermont Cunningham Jr. passed away on January 24, 2022, at the age of 74, in Crofton, Maryland. Despite experiencing serious medical issues, Jimmy showed his courage through the end.

Jimmy met his beautiful wife, Jean, during their undergraduate careers at Virginia State University. Together, they had one child: Vikel Cunningham Sr. 

The simplest pleasures in life brought joy to Jimmy. In his younger years, Jimmy enjoyed a variety of activities including tennis, sailing, skiing, astronomy, photography, and cars. His proudest joy, however, was his law work. Jimmy attended the University of Baltimore School of Law and obtained a law degree in 1991. 

Jimmy was born to James Cunningham Sr. and Marilyn Cunningham, and a sibling to both Allen Cunningham and Jean Cunningham Barnes. 

Jimmy was a proud grandfather of four: Zach Davis, Alexis Cunningham, Allysa Cunningham, and Vikel Cunningham Jr.
