James Edward Morgan, of La Plata, MD stepped into heaven on Thursday, August 23, 2018, at his home with family by his side. He was born in Leonardtown, MD, June 2, 1952, to the late William and Lucille Morgan.
Mr. Morgan was a loving husband and dad to his four-legged children, Wolfer, Lacie and Leo. Ed served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and spent 38 years with the federal government.
He was an active member of Independent Baptist Church in Clinton, MD. His hobbies included restoring and racing old Camaros and visiting every junkyard and dump in the state. He never met a stranger. He was kind, humble, and respectful.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 32 years, Lisa, his mother-in-law Nelda, sister-in-law Dawn, his siblings Delores (Dee), Bill and wife Bev, Mike and wife Debbie, Ray and wife Emily, Jeanette, and Keith and wife Heather along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Beall Funeral Home in Bowie, MD from 6-8 pm on Monday, August 27, 2018. A funeral service will take place on August 28, 2018 at Independent Baptist Church in Clinton, MD at 11am with viewing at 10am. Pastor Mike Creed will officiate. Interment will follow at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made, in honor of Ed, to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or Hospice of Charles County.
