Jean Anita Mills

Jean A. Mills of Millersville, Maryland passed away on October 11, 2024 following a lengthy and brave battle with multiple illnesses. She was 84 years old.

Jean was the first child of the late Joseph and Mary Kotvas Saffa from Glassport, Pennsylvania. She was born on October 9, 1940 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, and was the oldest of four siblings. She is survived by her sister Margaret (Warren) Davis of Port St. Lucie, Florida; her sister Faye (Edward) Basa of Wexford, Pennsylvania; her brother Thomas (Cheryl) Saffa of McCandless, Pennsylvania, as well as several nephews and nieces.

Jean was very proud of her long, successful career with a variety of financial institutions starting with First Federal of Homestead in 1958 and concluding with the Service Center in Maryland when she retired.

Although Jean recently relocated to McCandless, Pennsylvania to be near her family, she previously lived many happy years in Millersville, Maryland with her late husband Rex W. Mills. Rex predeceased Jean on January 17, 2012.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on October 24, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1710 Cecil Avenue, Millersville, Maryland. A private interment will immediately follow at the Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church Cemetery.

Family, friends, and guests will be received in the Church Social Hall upon the conclusion of the Mass and Interment. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s honor can be made to the Vietnam Veterans.

Jean’s family is grateful for the funeral arrangements made by Beall Funeral Home of Crownsville, Maryland and the assistance of friends and neighbors given to Jean over the years.
