Jeanette V. Burkhardt

Jeanette Vivian Burkhardt, 76, beloved wife of Robert (Bob) Burkhardt, a 45 year resident of Crofton, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. She was born on March 24, 1943 to Robert and Monica (Janulis) Krouse in Washington D.C.

Jeanette graduated from Suitland High School in Maryland and later worked for the Internal Revenue Service where she met the love of her life.  They were married at St. Francis Xavier Church in Washington D.C. February 1964. Throughout the years, Jeanette and Bob along with their children lived in Boston and San Francisco before settling in Crofton.  

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; son, Christopher in 2010; and sister Marion.

Raising her family along with her husband was Jeanette’s passion. She enjoyed the time spent with her Maltese pets, Gabi and Weasie, and made sure daily to watch her favorite “story”, The Young and the Restless since it first debuted in 1972.  She enjoyed researching genealogy, reading, gardening, cooking, living an upstanding life, laughing and making others happy. Jeanette was always there to help family and friends.

Jeanette is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bob, their four children, Robert (Pari) of Washington; Donald (Heather) of Maryland; Kimberly (Dennis) Fuller of California; Nicole (Joseph) Bilzor of Maryland; grandchildren, Robert, Ian, Kristina, Jake, Nikolaus, Nicholas, Kayla, Chelsea, James, Holly; great grandchildren; sisters Katey (Charlie) Stuart of Florida; Bobbi (Blaine) Hall of North Carolina; loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces and close friends. 

A mass of Christian burial was held Monday June 10, 2019 at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Crofton. The burial followed at Maryland Veterans Cemetery Crownsville.
