Jennifer Lynnesse Harris was born on May 5, 1959, in Ashtabula Ohio she is the second child born to Godfrey and Lorrine Holman. She transitioned suddenly on Feb 25, 2025, due to medical complications in Washington DC. Where she lived for the 18 years preceding her transition.
Jennifer Graduated from Copley Sr. High School in 1977 and briefly attended Heidelberg College in Tiffin Ohio and Kent State University. Jennifer was born with incredible skills and talents that inspired many. She was a gifted seamstress making garments and doing alterations for many satisfied family members and select clients. Her pieces reflected her personality, style and brought joy to her and the recipient. Her Love of music began at an early age and has its roots in the church. Her voice was very distinct and soothing and powerfully anointed. She sang with her sisters at True Vine C.O.G.I.C. with such passion and conviction because, Jennifer loved God.Jennifer was a dedicated sports fan. She has cheered for Micheal Jordan and the Chicago Bulls and Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers.
Being in the presence of Jennifer you were likely to find her space filled with sounds of music from Stevie Wonder to Vickie Winans. Her laughter and sense of humor was joy to experience and easily contiguous. Her beauty was unmatched, and her smile was the gem of it all. Her smile would cause you to be caught up in the rapture of Love. She had smile that would chase dark clouds away, like the sun on a rainy day. Her infectious laugh and radiant smile will truly be missed but never forgotten.
Jennifer was a devoted and protective mother and will be missed by her children Jay D. Ross of Akron, Ohio, and Javina Harris of Washington DC. Big Jenn was very protective and proud of her children and only Granddaughter Jaya Harris of TX. She really loved to cook for her family she was known to make some of the best fried chicken in the world. Jennifer was a food connoisseur and introduced her sisters to new and exciting foods that she began to enjoy. Jennifer had a style and class that was amazing, fresh, and timeless. A bright light in a very dim world.
She was preceeded in death by her parents Pastor Godfrey Holman and Missionary Lorrine Holman of Ohio. She is survived by 3 Sisters: Janice Holman-Robinson, Geraldine Holman-Richardson, and Joan Holman-Sullivan, all of Akron Ohio. Jennifer leaves behind a village filled with family and friends who loved and adored her and will forever hold the experience of her close to their hearts. She held a special bond with her nieces and nephews as she held the title of favorite Aunty by many of them
The experience of Jennifer was a gift of Love, laughter, strength, and determination to us from God. Although her physical struggle is over her legacy will continue to affect the lives of those she touched with a smile or kind word of encouragement. The light that she brought into this world will shine brighter through those who genuinely loved and understood her struggle in this life.
The family would like to thank you for all your condolences, cards, calls and text and gifts during this time of bereavement. The family requests that you carry Jennifers light in your heart, and let it manifest through a song, a smile, or a random act of kindness on her behalf. She is already deeply missed but never forgotten and To God be the glory for the things he has done.
