Jerry L. Worsham

Jerry Lynn Worsham aged 84, passed away on December 19, 2021. Jerry was born on August 11, 1937 in Iola, Texas to his mother Opal Worsham and father William Worsham. He was one of twelve children and is survived by his three brothers Bill Worsham of Lake Jackson, TX, Dennis Worsham of Pasadena, TX, and John Worsham of Lawrenceville, GA. 

Jerry was a devoted husband and father to his late wife Carol Worsham, and his late daughter Lori Spring. He is survived by his three grandchildren Tyler Spring of Huntingtown, MD, Savana Spring of Huntingtown, MD, and Sierra Spring of Huntingtown, MD. 

Jerry was a big fan of all sports, he loved the Dallas Cowboys. He played football and basketball at his high school in Iola, Texas. He then attended Texas A&M University before joining the Coast Guard in 1958. He played for the Coast Guard basketball team during his time in the service. 

After serving in the Coast Guard for 23 years, Jerry worked for The International Propeller Club for 21 years. After retiring, Jerry worked and played at the Potomac Ridge Golf Course in Waldorf, MD. 

Jerry was always either reading his western books or watching western films. He also loved hanging out with his grandchildren and going out to eat with them.  

The viewing will be held at Beall Funeral Home on Monday, January 3, 2022 2:00 PM - 4:00 pm, 6512 NW Crain Hwy, Bowie, Md. The funeral will be held the following day on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 12:00 PM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 4535 Piney Church Road, Waldorf, MD 20602.
