Jo Ann M. Rich, 75, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2022 after suffering complications from a stroke. Jo Ann was from Anne Arundel County where she lived with her loving husband of 38 years, Calvin "Cal" A. Rich. A native Washingtonian, she was the only child of Joseph and Mildred Noll. She attended school in Washington, DC and was a graduate of Strayer College. Earlier in life she worked for the DC government at the Juvenile Court and Department of Health, Education and Welfare. Later she worked for, and helped manage her father’s auto parts business.
Throughout her life, Jo Ann valued family above all else and often remarked that motherhood was her greatest joy in life. She volunteered at her boys' schools, enjoyed the gym, gardening, snow skiing and visiting the beach in Ocean City, MD. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling with her husband, going to the movies and most of all, spending time with family and friends. Jo Ann will be remembered for her thoughtfulness, sense of humor and infectious laughter.
Jo Ann is survived by her husband, Cal, and sons Eric S. Middleton (Jennifer) of Washington, DC; Todd R. Middleton (Alina) of Kailua, HI; step-daughter Angelina Smith (Rick) of Harker Heights, TX, and her beloved grandchildren Hadley, Chase, Ryder, and Lali Middleton and step-grandchildren Michael and Alexandra Weber.
Visitation and viewing will be Sunday, February 6 at 10:30 a.m. with a brief service at 11:30 a.m. at Beall Funeral Home in Bowie, MD. A luncheon for family and friends follows the service at Crofton Country Club in Crofton, MD.
