John was born in Baltimore on September 30, 1945 and died at Southern Maryland Hospital on January 15, 2022. He was raised and lived most of his young life in and around Baltimore . In 1984 he moved down to the Southern Maryland area where he lived till he passed away.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie, his daughters, JoAnn Mored( Brian) , Kari Jones(Anthony), seven grandchildren, his brother Eugene Bayer(Kathy) his sister Martha Lewis, his aunt Ailie Boyd, and many cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his Dad, Max Bayer, his Mom Helen Hohrein, his step father Henry Hohrein and his brother in law Skip Lewis.
John spent most of his working life as a route person, delivering sodas and snacks. He eventually went to work for Brandywine Auto Parts, delivering parts pretty much in the Baltimore area which he knew and loved.
For 37+ years he and Debbie would deliver the newspaper in the wee hours of the morning. They did this till they retired last year.
During a good part of his married life with Debbie, they raised the beautiful gray German Weimaraner. They became very involved with WCA , WCWDCA and Southern Maryland Kennel Club. They competed with them in show, obedience and field.
John loved music. He learned to play the trombone and he and his brother Gene would play in Church. They were known as the Bayer Brothers. Later on, John joined the Traditional choir at St Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.
In 2015 , John completed the RCIA program and became Catholic. This allowed him and Debbie to be married for the second time but this time in the Church. His mother in law was smiling down from heaven that day.
John joined the Moose for the second time in 2002. He and Debbie became active members of the Marlboro Moose #1856. Later on he was a past President of the Capital 155 Moose Legion.
We will miss John or JB as they called him at work, very much.
His wife, daughters, brother and sister would like to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this time.
Please family and friends, know that John is at peace now, no longer battling any illness.
