John S. Gessner

Issued at Camp Lejeune, NC on 08 October 1964 to a USMC family command by his father, Captain Frederick Gessner and mother, Peggie Gessner. Graduated from Thomas Stone High School 1983 and followed in his father's footsteps, serving with the USMC and came home to Waldorf in 1987. John married his soulmate, Jerra in Feb 1992 (deceased 2003). Graduated from the University of Maryland with Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1992 and was employed as an Engineer with the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL).

A celebration of life will be held on 04 August 2018 from 12 to 5pm at the Old Town Bowie Grill where John shared his passion for a good "Bud" with family and friends.

The family suggests that memorial contributions in John's name be made to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation.
