John R. Kasalonis, Jr. (Jack) passed in his sleep, after a brief illness, on the morning of January 7, 2024. Born in Massachusetts on October 31, 1942, Jack grew up in Lee, New Hampshire, where he attended Oyster River High School in Durham. Upon graduation in 1960, Jack enlisted in the US Navy and became a communications specialist stationed at numerous locations throughout the US and completed a tour of duty working with SEAL teams deployed in Vietnam. Achieving the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer, he was last stationed at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in White Oak, Md., where he retired in 1985. Jack then became a Sales Manager at Motorola, Inc. in Hanover, Md., where he worked primarily with the US Coast Guard, retiring in 2008. During his life, Jack enjoyed coaching his two sons' sports teams, attending his daughter's performances, bowling, camping, fishing, playing golf and reading crime thrillers. Always true to his New England roots, down time found him settled on the sofa, cheering on the Boston Red Sox or the New England Patriots. He loved chocolate chip cookies, apple pie and Korean Beef BBQ.
