John R. Perreault

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Robert Perreault, 60, of Gambrills, Maryland on January 11, 2025.

Besides being a talented and knowledgeable musician, a gifted writer, a culinary artist, and a caring medical provider, John was generous and giving and would help anyone in need. He embodied many of the great qualities he admired in his parents, George and Ezilda Perreault – love for his God, country, and family as well as generosity and selflessness.

At home on the water, John enjoyed boating and fishing. Whether in peaceful solitude or with family and friends, countless hours were spent on and around the waterways of the Chesapeake Bay.

Most notably, John gave of himself to help others as evidenced by his 28 years serving as an EMT with the Bowie Volunteer Fire Department, Company 39. He was also well-known and appreciated for his culinary skills, which he freely shared with others in times of celebration and in moments of hardship.

Predeceased by his parents George and Ezilda Perreault, John has been reunited in Glory with his mother and father. John is survived by his longtime partner, Joyce Catignani, his sister Charlene Rathburn, his brothers George, Joseph, and Peter, as well as multiple nieces and nephews, one grandniece, and many cherished lifelong friends. He will be dearly missed by all and we await being reunited with him in Glory.
