John Alvin Polite, II son of the late John Alvin Polite, Sr. and Geraldine Paul-Polite was born on April 5, 1971, in Macon (Bibb County) Georgia. He joined Beulah Baptist Church at an early age under the Leadership of the late Pastor Matthew Brown, Sr. He was an honor graduate of Southwest High School in 1988. In 1990, upon enlisting in the United States Navy, he decided to do one tour of duty until 1995. It was his decision to pursue a career as a civilian after receiving an Honorable Discharged from the U. S. Navy. He was offered a position with Walter Reed Hospital as a Histopathology Technician and remained there for almost 30 years.
John, as a young toddler was given the nickname “Bruiser” by his father which remained with him throughout his life. Due to his love of music in high school, the name “DJ” was originated. Other passions beside music were interior decorating, landscaping, drawing, art collecting, and cooking. He loved living in the Maryland area. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Alameda College.
John departed this life on June 19, 2022, leaving to cherish his memories are: two Daughters, Deja J. Polite, Savanna M. Polite; one son Calvin J. Polite of Bowie, MD.
His mother, Geraldine Paul Polite of Macon, GA; two brothers, Gerald Ramon Polite (Santana) of Virginia Beach, VA, Marcus Hubie Polite of Atlanta, GA. His beloved fiancé, Aleisha Branche, soulmate for 19 years. One great aunt, Dorothy W. Smith of West Haven, CT. Six uncles Lewis O. Paul, Curtis Boone, Sr. of Macon, GA, Daniel C. Paul of Upper Darby, PA, Jackie Gethers, Randy Gethers, Mark Gethers, of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Six aunts Mattie P. Boone, Lovenia Paul, of Macon, GA, Frances Paul of Upper Darby, PA, Beverly Gethers-Horry, Terry
Conyers, Alice (Alfred) Conyers of Mt. Pleasant, SC. A loving mother-in-law Lurena Stoner. A host of other Families, and Cousins. A Special shout out to his Road Dogs Willie “IV” Iverson, Dorsha “Sport” Evans, Cory “Magic” Davis, and Vick “VJ” Dixon and a wealth of friends.
