Bowie, MD - Johnnie Bowden died unexpectedly April 30, 2021, at his home in Bowie, MD. He was born November 28, 1959, in Washington, DC, the son of Vernon and Edith Bowden.

Johnnie graduated from Spingarn High School, Class of 1978. Following graduation, he attended the University of District of Columbia, UDC.

Johnnie was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended the South Bowie Congregation Kingdom Hall.

In addition to his Father, he was predeceased by a brother, Lorenzo, and his wife, Brenda Marie, and another brother Leon Bowden.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Brenda (Hodges) Bowden, are his mother, Edith, his sister Bernell (husband Steve), his sister Knecola; sister-in-law Karen, (husband Kevin spiritual brother, Vincent Earland, and spiritual sister Patty Earland), are his sons, Lavale, and Chris, his daughter Yanni, five grandchildren, Lavale Jr., Brianna, Michael, Kaliyah and Aiden. Additionally, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

On Saturday May 22 at 1pm there will be a zoom virtual service (meeting ID number 87116263420 and pass code is 500972) in memory of Johnnie Bowden.
