It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Joseph M. ‘Thomas’ Carr on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. He was born to parents Richard J. Carr, Jr., and Ana L. (Villamar) Carr and lived in Maryland. Raised Roman Catholic, he attended Mount Calvary, and later received his confirmation name from patron Saint Thomas the Apostle. Joe graduated from Crossland High School and went on to become a financial advisor, LUTCF, and Legacy Agent at MetLife (over 30 years). He later joined Prudential and continued his profession of helping families attain financial security.
Joe’s passions were his music and sports, keeping a “pristine ‘Better Homes & Gardens’ lawn” and finding joy in life. He possessed a unique quality to provide humor in the most absurd life events. He was quite a character we will sorely miss.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Gallagher; his sister, Margaret Carr Miller; niece, Nicole B. Carr; and nephews Shawn J. Reece and Gabriel I. Miller. He is predeceased by his above named parents, and his sister, Yolanda Carr Sanchez.
We are better for having known him; he will be deeply missed by all those he touched and loved.
Family and friends will be received at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Route 3 South), Bowie, MD 20715 on Friday, May 19, 2023, 2-3pm Visitation, 3pm Service.
