Judith E. Williams

October 3, 1937 — August 9, 2020

A Heart of Gold stopped beating, two willing hands at rest.  Surrounded by loved ones, God dispatched His Angels on Sunday, August 9, 2020 to prove that He only takes the best.  Judith born to the late Dorothy Jones on October 3, 1937 in Pearisburg, Virginia.  She was affectionately called “Judy” by her family and friends.

Judy was educated in the public schools of Giles County (Virginia) and District of Columbia (Washington D.C.).  Judy accepted Christ as Her Savior at an early age and affirming her faith she became a parishioner of St. John Baptist DeSalle, in Chillum, Maryland. Later in her Christian journey she became an honorary member at From The Heart Church Ministries, in Camp Springs, Maryland.  Servicing the ministerial staff with her expertise in preparing the sacred garments.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to George Robert Williams, who predeceased her on December 17, 1996.  This union was blessed with one loving daughter, Donna Lynn.  She was a loving wife, awesome mother, grandmother and mother-in-law.  She was especially devoted to her heartbeats: (Denisha, Tye, Myles and MyKailah).  Her special bond with Denisha was  beyond…beyond measure and having a nurturing spirit for her non-adoption grands Kiarra and Tawanna.  She adored her son-in-love Tyrone aka “Homer.” Her combined family from marriage was a bonus, a step-daughter Barbara Jean Hudgens (deceased) another son-in-law Teady (Thomas Hudgens), more grands, great-grands and great-great grands.

Judy was an excellent “COOK” who defined the American View of Southern Cooking.  She championed the use of fresh, in season ingredients and characterized Southern Food as fried chicken, chitterlings, pork, navy/pinto beans and fresh vegetables – most especially string beans and greens! Her very own recipe:  take equal parts of kindness, unselfishness and thoughtfulness, mix in an atmosphere of love; add the spice of usefulness; scatter a few grains of cheerfulness; season with smiles; stir in a hearty laugh and dispense to every member of your family!  She was an awesome “LAUNDRESS” Oh My Goodness….there will never be another one!  NO NOT ONE!!!

The memory of her loving and kind spirit, will be cherished always by her devoted family, Donna (Tyrone); one sister Jennifer ( Marvin); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of relatives and friends.

Judy was well loved and respected by all whose lives she touched.  “Well Done Thy Good and Faithful Servant, For You Have Fought a Good Fight.  You have Finished Your Course, You Have Kept the Faith!  Rest well QUEEN in the ARMS of GOD even though your SILENCE WAS GOLDEN!
