Julia A. Domingo

December 25, 1957 — January 7, 2025

Bowie

Julia Alva Domingo, cherished daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025, at the age of 67. Born in New York City on December 25, 1957, Julia was a special Christmas gift to her family and a joy to the many lives she touched.

Julia was the beloved daughter of Olive De Windt Domingo and the late Julian Domingo and a devoted sister to Jannette, Jacqueline, Milton, and the late Jerrold. She was a proud and loving aunt to her nieces, Jenai and Marisa, and her nephew, Justin. She was also a very dear cousin to many, especially her confidante Barbara.

Julia moved to Bowie with her parents in 1974. She spent her senior year at Bowie High School and, in just one short year there, she forged lasting friendships while still maintaining her connection to her closest New York classmates and cousins. Although she lived in Maryland all her adult life, Julia always considered herself to be a New Yorker and, whether they were winning or losing, she enjoyed wearing her New York Giants sweatshirts.

In 1990 Julia had a devastating car accident that forced her to end a promising career at Verizon and changed the course of her life. Nevertheless, despite the many health challenges she faced over the next 34 years, she was known for her outgoing spirit and her kindness and humor. Throughout her life, Julia exhibited a deep love for her family, loyalty to friends, and a passion for the interests that she enjoyed. Her infectious laughter and brilliant smile left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Julia had a unique ability to relate to others, sharing her warmth and positivity wherever she went. Whether she was attending family gatherings, meetings, or her beloved Glendale United Methodist Church, she left a legacy of love and connection that will be deeply missed.

Julia Domingo will be remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit, and the love she freely gave to those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends who will forever cherish the joy she brought to our lives.

May she rest in eternal peace.

A celebration of Julia’s life will be held on January 25th at Beall Funeral Home in Bowie and the Repast at the nearby Marriott Courtyard Hotel.
