Julia (Judy) Wells Werking, 88, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2022, after an extended illness, surrounded by family at her son’s home in Gambrills, MD. Her funeral services will be held at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Crofton, MD, on Friday, November 25, 2022, at 11:00 am.
Judy was born on January 7, 1934, in Indianapolis, IN, as the only child of Sam and Lucille Wells. She was a loving, compassionate, and committed wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Judy was incredibly talented - a self-taught artist who could mix any color by eye. Her works include Impressionist reproductions, portraits, and original art that grace the walls of the National War College, Georgetown Prep, and her families’ homes. She was a self-instructed, gifted pianist whose beautiful music sparked the senses as it cascaded throughout family homes during the holidays and most days in between.
Judy’s family knew her love as unconditional and without boundaries. She was completely dedicated to her family and never missed an opportunity to share moments in their lives or to show her love.
Judy is survived by her children Patty, Linda, and James; daughter-in-law Sandy; grandchildren Nick, Max, Catlin, Amanda, and Jessie; and great grandchildren Julian, Carlo, Isabella, Corrina, Marnie, and Hazel.
Judy loved her family pets with all her heart. The German Shepherds were her favorites. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Humane Society, American Society for the Prevention of the Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), or People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
